NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals, in duplicate, will be received at the Middletown Township Municipal
Building, 3 Municipal Way, Langhorne, PA 19047-3424, until 11:00 a.m., prevailing time, on Friday, November 13, 2009.
The principal items of work to be performed under this project include: furnishing all labor, materials, and
equipment necessary for the COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE AND YARD WASTE AND THE COLLECTION OF
RECYCLABLES from all residential properties within Middletown Township.
Proposals, which must be submitted in duplicate, will be publicly opened and read aloud at the Office of the Township
Manager, at the above address, at 11:00 A.M., prevailing time, on Friday, November 13, 2009.
The bid award date shall be announced at the bid opening.
Specifications and information for bidders may be obtained at the Middletown Township Office, Monday to Friday, 9:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Specifications may be obtained electronically from the office of the Township manager by calling
215-750-3800 ex. 141.
All proposals must be sealed and addressed to the Township Manager at the above address and marked "COLLECTION
AND DISPOSAL OF RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE AND YARD WASTE AND THE COLLECTION OF RECYCLABLES" on the outside of the
envelope. Delivery of all proposals to the Township Office shall be the sole responsibility of the bidder. Questions
regarding the specifications shall be directed to Ray Stepnoski, Township Manager at 215-750-3800, ext. 141.
The bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the aggregate
cost of the bid proposal, made payable to Middletown Township. All bids must be accompanied by a Surety's
Consent. The successful bidder shall be bound to furnish and pay for a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one
hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
The successful bidder shall take affirmative action to ensure that applicants for employment and employees or agents
are treated without discrimination based upon race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, age, sex, or
disability.
The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids on any basis and to waive any
informality in the bidding as permitted by law. No bidder may withdraw a bid within ninety (90) days after the actual
date of the bid opening thereof, except in accordance with the terms of PA Act 4 of 1974.
